How treatment works
Every session at Lymphara Clinic centres on advanced post-operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), a gentle, clinically informed technique used to support swelling and recovery after procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, breast surgery, facelift and lipoedema reduction surgery.
Swelling is a normal part of healing, but when fluid lingers in tissues it can create pressure, tightness and discomfort.
Specialist MLD helps guide excess fluid through the lymphatic system, easing pressure on healing tissues and supporting a smoother recovery.
Treatment is always adapted to your procedure, stage of healing and how your body is responding.

A little extra support if needed
Most recoveries progress exactly as expected. However, if something doesn’t seem to be settling in the usual way, there is additional support available.
1. Ongoing recovery support
During each session I check how your swelling, tissues and overall recovery are progressing.
Your treatment is adapted to your surgery and stage of healing so your recovery stays on track.
2. Additional clinical support
If something looks like it would benefit from a clinical check, the experienced prescribing district nurse I work alongside can assess you at the clinic.
She specialises in wound care and post-operative recovery.
3. Your surgeon kept informed
If needed, your surgeon can also be updated so your recovery care remains aligned with your surgical plan.
Most of the time this isn’t necessary, but it ensures the right support is available if something unexpected arises.
