Post-op MLD & recovery treatments in Cheltenham
Specialist Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression guidance, scar therapy and fibrosis support after cosmetic, reconstructive and lipoedema reduction surgery.
How treatment works
Every session at Lymphara Clinic is centred around specialist post-operative Manual Lymphatic Drainage, also known as MLD.
This is a gentle, clinical treatment used to support recovery after procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, breast surgery, body lifts, facelift, gynaecomastia and lipoedema liposuction.
Swelling is a normal part of healing, but it can feel uncomfortable, heavy and restrictive, especially when fluid lingers in the tissues or compression does not feel right.
Post-op MLD helps support lymphatic flow, ease tissue congestion and make recovery feel more manageable while your body heals.
Your treatment is adapted to your procedure, stage of healing, compression, symptoms and surgeon guidance.

Treatment packages
Post-op recovery usually changes week by week. Swelling may increase, garments may loosen or dig in, and tissue can feel tight, firm or congested as healing progresses.
A treatment package gives you structured support through this key recovery window, rather than leaving you to book one-off sessions reactively.
Course of 4 treatments - £299
Includes initial consultation with first MLD session + 3 follow-up treatments, to be used within 3 weeks.
Best for smaller procedures, later-stage recovery, or clients who want a focused short course of post-op support.

Includes initial consultation with first MLD session + 5 follow-up treatments, to be used within 5 weeks.

A little extra support if needed
Most recoveries progress as expected, but it is normal to have questions along the way, especially around swelling, firmness, wound healing or fluid build-up.
1. Ongoing recovery support
During each session I check how your swelling, tissues, compression and overall recovery are progressing.
Your treatment is adapted as your body changes, so support stays relevant throughout recovery.
2. Additional clinical support
MLD does not replace your surgeon, GP or medical team. If something needs a clinical opinion, I can signpost you to an experienced prescribing district nurse who specialises in wound care and post-operative healing. Any assessment or treatment would be arranged directly with her.
3. Your surgeon kept informed
If needed, your surgeon can also be updated so your recovery care remains aligned with your surgical plan.
Most of the time this is not necessary, but it means the right support is available if something unexpected arises.
