Why specialist post-op care matters

The first weeks after surgery can feel physically and emotionally overwhelming. Swelling, tightness, pressure and garment discomfort are common, but it is not always easy to know what is normal or what support you need.

Lymphara Clinic provides specialist post-operative MLD and recovery care for cosmetic, reconstructive and lipoedema surgery clients. This includes procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, breast surgery, body lifts, facelifts, gynaecomastia and lymph-sparing liposuction for lipoedema.

Treatment is tailored to your procedure, stage of healing, compression and surgeon guidance. Alongside gentle Vodder-based MLD, support may include compression guidance, lymphatic k-taping, scar-focused therapy and fibrosis support where appropriate.

I’ve been through major surgery and recovery myself, so I understand how vulnerable this stage can feel, especially when you are swollen, uncomfortable or unsure what is normal.

"Having surgery myself showed me how much difference calm, knowledgeable post-op support can make. My aim is to help you feel safer, clearer and better supported through recovery."

Clinically supported recovery care
Most post-operative healing progresses normally, but recovery can sometimes raise questions around wound healing, fluid build-up, infection signs or whether something needs medical review.

MLD does not replace your surgeon, GP or medical team. However, safe post-op care means knowing when something needs a clinical opinion rather than guessing.
Lymphara Clinic works alongside an experienced prescribing district nurse who specialises in wound care and post-surgical healing. If appropriate, a nurse review can be arranged, with your surgeon kept informed where needed.

"I felt completely overwhelmed after my surgery, until I found Rachel. Her treatments helped so much with the swelling and she made everything feel manageable."
